History

2009 marked my 18'th season of driving race cars.  When I first started I never imagined it would last this long.  When I was a kid I remember going to the races at the Grand Forks Speedway (now called River Cities) in ND.  When my family came to Duluth on vacation we would go watch my Uncle Errol race at the Proctor Speedway.  Errol raced there in the 80's and had 1 feature win.

My Grandpa, Earl Herrick & his Brother George raced at the Proctor Speedway in the 50's.  My Father Jeff said Grandpa was a heck of a mechanic back in the day.  Earl built a 1/4 midget.  My Dad & his Brothers would race it in the parking lot at the Kenwood Shopping Center.  Earl had 1 nasty crash on the backstretch at the Proctor Speedway.  Rolling the car several times and breaking his nose.  After seeing the pictures in Paul Lind's book, "Glory Days" it looks like about the same area I had my big flip and fire.  Earl had 1 feature win at the Proctor Speedway.

I started racing in the Hobby Stock Class in 1992 at the Proctor Speedway.  My racing career has consisted of racing Hobby Stocks, Pure Stocks, Wissota Street Stocks, Wissota Super Stocks & Wissota Midwest Mods.  I've got 2 track championships.  One of my championships was in the Pure Stock Class at the Proctor Speedway.  The other championship was in a Wissota Street Stock at the Superior Speedway.  In the last 4 years at the Superior Speedway I have finished 2'nd in the points 3 times.  In 2009 I finished 2'nd just 4 points away from the leader. If I can keep that kind of consistancy, we are bound to get another championship.  To this date I have 23 feature wins.  I have 6 feature wins at the Proctor Speedway & 17 feature wins at the Superior Speedway.
